Megfluence is an influencer marketing marketplace operated by Everscale LLC, trading as Burst Ventures (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can remove it.
Information you give us
When you create an account and use Megfluence, we store:
- Account details — your name, email address and password. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored by us in a readable form.
- Creator profiles — your display name, handle, biography, location, content niches, rate card and profile and cover images.
- Brand profiles — your business name, handle, website, industry and description.
- Campaign and collaboration records — campaigns you post, applications you send or receive, agreements you accept, and the content you deliver.
- Messages — messages sent between brands and creators on the platform.
Information from connected social accounts
If you choose to connect an Instagram or TikTok account, we request your permission through that platform and then collect:
- Your account identifier, username, profile link and profile picture.
- Audience metrics — follower count, following count, post count, average likes, comments and views, and an engagement rate we calculate from your recent posts.
- Aggregate audience demographics — the age, gender and country breakdown of your followers. This is aggregate information about your audience as a group. We do not receive the identities of your followers.
- Access tokens, which allow us to refresh those figures on your behalf. These are stored separately from your profile, are never sent to a browser, and are not accessible through our public interfaces.
We refresh this information periodically so that the figures brands see are current. We do not post on your behalf, read your private messages, or access content you have not published.
Connecting an account is optional. You can use Megfluence without connecting one, though brands will not be able to see audience figures for you.
Instagram Creator Marketplace (for brands)
This is separate from the section above, and it applies to brands rather than creators.
A brand can connect its own Facebook and Instagram presence to Megfluence in order to search Instagram's Creator Marketplace — Instagram's own directory of creators who have made themselves available to brands. When a brand authorises this, we collect:
- The identifier of the Facebook account that gave permission, the Facebook Page selected, and the Instagram professional account connected to that Page.
- An access token allowing us to search Creator Marketplace on that brand's behalf. As with creator tokens, it is stored separately, never sent to a browser, and unreachable through our public interfaces.
We use this only to run creator searches the brand asks for, and to show the results inside Megfluence. We do not publish content, send messages, manage comments, run advertising, or make any other use of the brand's Facebook or Instagram presence.
We do not store the creator information Instagram returns. Search results and creator insights are requested from Instagram each time a brand looks, shown on screen, and not written to our database. There is no copy of Instagram's creator data held by Megfluence.
Creators appearing in those results have made themselves discoverable through Instagram, not through Megfluence. If you are a creator and want to change or remove what appears there, that is managed in your Instagram account rather than by us.
A brand can disconnect at any time in Settings. Doing so revokes our access at Meta and deletes the stored credentials.
How we use this information
- To operate the marketplace — showing creator profiles to brands, matching creators to campaigns that fit their stated preferences, and running collaborations from application to delivery.
- To process payments, including holding funds until a collaboration's review period ends and then releasing them to the creator.
- To send you transactional messages about your account, applications, collaborations and payments.
- To keep the platform safe — detecting attempts to move payment off the platform, reviewing creator profiles before they are shown to brands, and investigating disputes.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your connected account data for advertising.
Who we share it with
Other users. Your creator profile, including audience figures from connected accounts, is visible to brands on Megfluence once your profile is approved. Your brand profile is visible to creators. Content you deliver is visible to the brand that commissioned it.
Service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing and creator payouts. Stripe collects identity and bank details directly from creators for payout verification; we do not see or store them.
- PayPal — an optional payment method for brands.
- Resend — sending transactional email.
- Sentry — error reporting, which may incidentally include technical details of a failed request.
- Meta and TikTok — when you connect an account, we exchange information with them as you have authorised. For brands using Creator Marketplace, we send Meta the search terms and filters you enter so it can return matching creators.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
Removing your data
Disconnecting a social account
You can disconnect Instagram or TikTok at any time from your profile page. This deletes the stored access tokens immediately. You can also remove Megfluence from within Instagram or TikTok directly, which has the same effect — those platforms notify us and we revoke the connection.
Deleting connected account data
A request through Instagram's data deletion process removes the connection, the stored tokens and all audience metrics and demographics we collected through it. You receive a confirmation code and a link showing the status of that request. This does not delete your Megfluence account.
Disconnecting Creator Marketplace (brands)
A brand can disconnect in Settings. This revokes Megfluence's access at Meta and deletes the stored credentials. Because we never stored the creator information Instagram returned, there is nothing further to remove.
Deleting your account
Contact support@megfluence.com. We will tell you what can be removed and what has to be retained. Some records — completed payments, signed agreements and tax records — must be kept for legal and accounting reasons even after an account is closed.
How long we keep it
Profile and account information is kept while your account is open. Audience metrics from a creator's own connected account are retained as a historical record, so that both parties to a past collaboration can see the figures that applied when it was agreed. Payment records are retained as required by law. Access tokens are deleted as soon as a connection is revoked.
Creator Marketplace results are not retained at all. They are fetched from Instagram when a brand searches and are not written to our database.
Security
Access to data is restricted at the database level, so users can reach only their own records and what the marketplace is designed to make public. Access tokens for connected accounts are held in storage that is not reachable from any browser. Delivered content is stored privately and is accessible only to the parties on that collaboration, through links that expire.
No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information we will notify you.
Children
Megfluence is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be notified to you directly.
